CBB60 35µF 250VAC Motor Start-Run Capacitor – for Washer Pumps
This CBB60 35µF (35MFD) 250VAC capacitor uses metallized polypropylene film in a flame-retardant case with 2-wire leads, built for start-run duty in single-phase AC motors. A direct replacement for washing machine drain pump motors and small appliance motors specifying 35µF. Same reliable PP film construction as our 20µF and 30µF listings, scaled up for higher starting torque requirements.
Key Features
- ✅ Type: CBB60 metallized polypropylene film capacitor
- ✅ Capacitance: 35µF (35MFD)
- ✅ Rated Voltage: 250V AC
- ✅ Duty: Motor start-run (continuous run with start assist)
- ✅ Leads: 2-wire outlet (tinned copper, non-polarized)
- ✅ Self-healing dielectric – recovers from micro-breakdown
- ✅ Low dissipation factor – runs cool under load
- ✅ Flame-retardant molded case (UL94-V0 class typical)

Applications
- Washing machine drain pump motors (35µF spec)
- Washer spin / circulation pump motors requiring higher start torque
- Dishwasher drain pump motors
- Small water pump & fountain pump motors (250V class)
- Single-phase AC induction motors requiring 35µF start-run assist
- Compactor / small appliance motors
20 / 30 / 35µF – Which Do You Need?
- 20µF: Most common – standard front-load washer drain pumps.
- 30µF: Larger pumps, some top-load and commercial units.
- 35µF: Highest torque spec in this range – heavy-duty pumps, pump+spin combos, or motors with stiffer starting loads.
- Rule: Always read the old capacitor's printed label. Using the wrong µF changes motor torque characteristics and can cause overheating or failure to start.
Wiring & Replacement
- Non-polarized: Either wire goes to either motor terminal per the appliance schematic.
- Power off + discharge: Unplug the washer, discharge old cap before touching leads.
- Match values: Replace with 35µF ±5% and 250VAC or higher. Never substitute a lower voltage class.
- Symptom check: Pump hums but won't spin = classic failed run cap. Swap before condemning the motor.
- Space check: 35µF is physically larger than 20/30µF – verify it fits in the original mounting location before ordering.
Why This Cap
When a washer pump needs 35µF, it needs that extra kick to overcome a heavier starting load – whether from a bigger impeller, thicker sludge, or a stiffer bearing. This CBB60 35µF 250VAC delivers the required torque with low-loss PP film that stays cool through repeated high-current starts. Self-healing dielectric handles occasional overstress, and the 2-wire lead-out drops straight into existing connectors. If your old cap reads 35µF, this is your part.
