CBB60 45µF 250VAC Motor Start-Run Capacitor – for Washer Pumps
This CBB60 45µF (45MFD) 250VAC capacitor uses metallized polypropylene film in a flame-retardant case with 2-wire leads, built for start-run duty in single-phase AC motors. A direct replacement for washing machine drain pump motors and small appliance motors specifying 45µF. Extends our CBB60 washer-pump lineup to cover the heaviest OEM-specified starting torque requirements.
Key Features

Applications
- Washing machine drain pump motors (45µF spec)
- Heavy-duty washer spin / circulation pump motors
- Dishwasher drain pump motors with maximum starting load
- Small water pump & fountain pump motors (250V class)
- Single-phase AC induction motors requiring 45µF start-run assist
- Compactor / small appliance motors with stiff starting loads
20 / 30 / 35 / 40 / 45µF – Which Do You Need?
- 20µF: Most common – standard front-load washer drain pumps.
- 30µF: Larger pumps, some top-load and commercial units.
- 35µF: Heavy-duty pumps, pump+spin combos.
- 40µF: Maximum torque – large impellers, heavily loaded pumps.
- 45µF: Top of the range – OEM-spec'd for the heaviest pump motors or motors that previously failed with lower values.
- Rule: Always read the old capacitor's printed label. Using the wrong µF changes motor torque characteristics and can cause overheating or failure to start.
Wiring & Replacement
- Non-polarized: Either wire goes to either motor terminal per the appliance schematic.
- Power off + discharge: Unplug the washer, discharge old cap before touching leads.
- Match values: Replace with 45µF ±5% and 250VAC or higher. Never substitute a lower voltage class.
- Symptom check: Pump hums but won't spin = classic failed run cap. Swap before condemning the motor.
- Space check: 45µF is the largest in this series – verify clearance in the original mounting location before ordering.
Why This Cap
When a washer pump calls for 45µF, it's the manufacturer's way of saying "this motor needs maximum starting assistance." Whether it's a high-head drain pump, a large-capacity machine with a bigger impeller, or a motor that's been borderline with 35–40µF, this CBB60 45µF 250VAC delivers the required torque with low-loss PP film that stays cool through repeated high-current starts. Self-healing dielectric handles occasional overstress, and the 2-wire lead-out drops straight into existing connectors. If your old cap reads 45µF, this is your part – the top of our CBB60 washer-pump range.
