Installation & Usage Guidelines

  • Polarity: Observe correct polarity. Reverse connection may cause heat generation, pressure rise, or rupture.
  • Terminal Tightening: Use M5 bolts with recommended torque of 3.23 N·m. Over-tightening may damage the terminal.
  • Ripple Current: Ensure ripple current does not exceed the rated value. Excessive ripple current accelerates electrolyte evaporation and shortens lifespan.
  • Voltage Derating: For extended lifespan, operate at 80% of rated voltage when possible.
  • Mounting Orientation: Can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Avoid placing the safety vent near heat-sensitive components.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid direct sunlight and high humidity.
  • Temperature Management: Keep ambient temperature below 85°C. Every 5–10°C increase above rated temperature approximately halves the capacitor life.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between CD135 and CD138?
A: CD135 has a 2000h load life at 85°C, while CD138 offers 5000h load life at the same temperature, making it suitable for applications requiring longer service life.
Q: Can I use a 400V capacitor in a 450V circuit?
A: No. Always select a capacitor with a voltage rating equal to or higher than your circuit's maximum operating voltage. Use 450V rated capacitors for 400V circuits.
Q: What is the recommended tightening torque for the screw terminals?
A: The recommended tightening torque is 3.23 N·m for the M5 screw terminals. Do not exceed this value to avoid terminal damage.
Q: Are these capacitors RoHS compliant?
A: Yes, all Jianghai CD135 series capacitors are RoHS compliant.
Q: What is the shelf life of these capacitors?
A: When stored properly in a cool, dry environment, the shelf life is approximately 500 hours at 85°C (unloaded condition). For long storage periods, re-forming may be required.
Q: Can I get samples before placing a bulk order?
A: Yes, we provide free samples for qualified customers. Please contact our sales team for sample requests.
