## 6.5" Cloth Cone with Rubber Surround – Recone Repair Part

This auction is for a single 6.5 inch speaker cone: a black cloth cone body
with the rubber surround already bonded on. If your woofer's cone is torn or
the original edge has perished, this lets you rebuild the driver instead of
scrapping it.

Cloth cones are the sound of a lot of vintage and pro audio drivers – warm in
the mids, controlled breakup up top, and a bit more forgiving than a stiff
paper cone. Paired with a rubber surround, you get long throw and an edge that
won't rot the way foam does.

### Will It Fit Your Speaker?

- **Outside diameter (155mm)** must clear the basket's inner lip and mounting
  holes. If your frame's opening is smaller than 155mm, this cone won't drop in.
- **Center hole (26mm)** is the one you can't fix later. Measure your voice
  coil former's outer diameter – it should be a close slip fit, tight enough to
  self-centre while the glue sets.
- **Depth (32mm)** sets how the cone sits in the frame and whether the dust
  cap clears the pole piece.
- **Cone opening (140mm)** is where the surround meets the cone body – useful
  for checking against your old part.

### Fitting Notes

1. Remove the old cone and clean the frame and voice coil former.
2. Dry-fit the new cone and check the coil centres in the gap without rubbing.
3. Apply a thin, even bead of adhesive at the rubber-to-frame edge and around
   the coil former at the centre hole.
4. Let it cure fully before playing any signal.

### FAQ

**Does this include a voice coil, spider or dust cap?**
No – cone and rubber surround only. You reuse your existing coil and spider.

**Is this for 6" or 6.5"?**
It's a 6.5" cone (155mm OD). It may suit some 6" drivers, but only if your
frame opening and 26mm centre hole match. Measure your old cone rather than
going by the nominal size.

**Why cloth instead of paper?**
Cloth is lighter and more damped, so it keeps the midrange smooth and tends to
sound closer to the original driver. It's also what many vintage and pro
woofers used.

**Rubber or foam surround?**
Rubber lasts far longer and handles heat and humidity better. Foam is softer
and lighter but perishes over time.
